Astragalus arizonicus Arizona Milkvetch
PERENNIAL. Long, prostrate stems have pinnate leaves with narrow,
bluish or grayish green leaflets. Flowers to 1.5 cm, in dense showy
clusters, various shades of bright purple with a central white spot and
prominent veins. Pods are straight, about 2 cm long. Blooms
in March-April. In the Empires, occasional in sandy gravel in dirt
roads or dry washes in desertscrub.
