Calliandra eriophylla  Fairyduster
SHRUB.  A tough, low-growing shrub with pale blue-gray twigs and tiny dark green pinnate leaves.  Flowers (clouds of showy pink stamens) appear in April, followed by stiff, upright seedpods.  Common in a variety of habitats, especially on mixed gravel slopes in desert upland and desert grassland.
