Echinocereus rigidissimus Rainbow Cactus
CACTUS. A small, solitary, cylindrical cactus with no central
spines. Radial spines are white, pink, or red, giving the stems a
color banded appearance, hence the common name. Thicker and more
cylindrical than the other small cacti, and the only one without central
spines. Flowers bright pink with white centers, blooming in June-July.
All plants in the area bloom at once, and flowers last only one or two
days. Common throughout the Empires.
FAMILY: Cactaceae (Cactus Family)
