Jatropha macrorhiza  Sangre de Drago - Dragon's Blood
PERENNIAL HERB.  Sprouts from a huge tuber.  Appears after the first summer rains and withers by late summer. Leaves are large, dark gree, very smooth, with five to seven lobes and ragged-toothed edges.  Central cluster of small white or pink flowers.  In the Empires, frequent throughout on gentle sunny slopes. Amoreuxia palmatifida has smaller, more regular leaves and large yellow flowers.
