Polygala barbeyana  Blue Milkwort
ANNUAL or PERENNIAL.  A tiny plant, easy to overlook.  Thin stems have alternate, narrow, slightly fuzzy leaves.  Flowers light blue, purple, and white, with a central tube and two nearly circular "wings".  Seedpods circular, to 1 cm, each with a single seed.  Uncommon in the Empires on gravelly slopes in chaparral and desert grassland.
