Quercus oblongifolia  Mexican Blue Oak
EVERGREEN TREE.  Bluish-green blunt oval leaves, short thick trunk, gnarled branches, rounded crown.  In the Empires, locally common in small encinal (oak grassland/chaparral) communities among granite tors.
