Xanthisma spinulosum  Yellow Spiny Aster
A low greenish-gray tuft of stems with with small spiny-lobed leaves.  Bright yellow flowers in April-May, sometimes all summer.  Common in dry gravel, bajadas, etc.  Identify by spiny grayish-fuzzy leaves.
