Zinnia acerosa Desert Zinnia
PERENNIAL HERB. Forms low shrubby mounds with narrow, almost
needlelike dark grayish green leaves and white, papery looking flowers
with yellow centers. Blooms from March-frost with sufficient rain.
In the Empires, very common in desertscrub. Psilostrophe cooperi
has similar flowers but they are entirely yellow and the plant has longer,
paler stems.
